One of the most common questions we get in our office is about tooth whitening options. Tooth whitening is a way to brighten your teeth making them whiter and remove stain. There are many over the counter options that are great. We recommend Crest Whitening Strips as a good at home version. Our office also offers a stronger option.
Take home whitening trays: These are custom made trays that cover your upper and lower teeth. We then provide you with stronger whitening gel that is placed in these tray. The gel filled trays are placed over the teeth and worn either at night with our night white gel, or for 20-30 minutes during the day with our day white gel. This is done for 2 weeks to achieve optimal whitening. Touch ups can be done as needed after that. Depending on lifestyle habits, touch ups can be done annually. Gel can be purchased at our office at any time after the trays have been made for you.
**The appointment process for this is a 2 appointment sequence. At the first appointment we take an impression of your teeth. Within about a week, we will custom make your trays. The second appointment we will deliver the trays to you, demo using the gel, and take a beginning tooth color shade.
In-Office Whitening: Our office offers Zoom whitening in office. This is a procedure where the patient has whitening gel placed on their teeth and then a light is placed on the teeth. The gel is washed off and the process is repeated several times. At the end of the appointment the teeth will be as white as they would be after the 2 week take home trays. With the Zoom in office whitening we will also make custom made trays to take home with whitening gel for touch ups.
